Perhaps the biggest learning of the Industrial-Fusion economy transition is this:
The old ideas aren’t working well and are mostly getting clunkier,
We need all the bright ideas that we can get.
Guess what? Our communities are full of those bright idea sources! They know things, important things that we don’t. We need them.
But impactful creativity requires some constraints. Just like water needs to be guided
into a channel before it can drive a turbine, we have to create environments where that insight and creativity and entrepreneurial mindset can make a productive impact.
Short version: An open mic in the middle of the room, or a Facebook page, or a customer service bot, ain’t gonna cut it.
Instead, we need to design systems, processes, that bring them into the important work and give the the tools to unlock and share the unique gifts and insights they can offer.
With that structured bringing-in, we will find better answers for everyone - and much less conflict.
Without that, or with the arm's-length ways we have become accustomed to using, a Future-Ready population will find fewer and fewer reasons to trust us at all.
