This piece focuses on science fiction tropes, which isn’t my strong suit, but Noah’ sketch of potential dramatic conflicts - in many cases, future-relevant versions of familiar tropes – gives a lot of food for thought.  As Noah teases out many of the themes we talk about here, he envisions a new kind of conflict driven by a futuristic version of this issue – and in many of his set-ups, the conflict centers on a party trying to protect against change vs. a party that is trying to manage or adapt to change.  I’d love to see some of these get written.

Sunsama produces one of the best app blogs, and this entry is a good example.  This recent entry, focused on the uncomfortable tension created when we don’t know, is a good example – and a great summary of the difference between future proofing, with its defensive posture and fearfulness, and future readiness, with its acceptance of uncertainty and capacity to respond.
