Wait, what? Who’s there?

You’re an idiot. Don’t you know anything? You say people matter, but look at the world, hell, look at your country. We get gerrymandered out of our vote. We lose our neighborhoods to gentrification. We lose our personal information to megacorps that want to sell us stuff. And the whole world is filled with refugees who’ve been chased from their homes by climate change, violence, egomaniacal leaders, etc. And what about AI taking all our jobs?

Nothing has changed. If anything, people might matter less than ever.

None of that is false. And none of that is not tragic. But a snapshot and a movie are not the same thing.
