This week’s topic is so complex, and so much in the news and part of our everyday lives that it’s not easy to come up with a way to move our personal needles on this understanding.  But one small thing that we can look at is our own publishing. 

This week, take a look at your own social media use - your consumption, as well as your sharing and production.  Take a look specifically at your decision making around sharing or reposting or boosting.  What are your habits or standard modes of action?  Do you have certain sources that you trust?  How often do you independently fact-check the information that you share?  Have you ever discovered that something you had shared was in fact not correct?  

You can even go through your activity on your favorite social media platform last week and make a tally of how many things you shared from each source or on each topic.  Pay attention, though, to both the accuracy of what you provided, and the overall direction of what you provided…
