This week’s Digest is late because Moderna … and hope. Fourteen hours of chills and fever, followed by 12 hours of recuperation, plays havoc with your work plans, and of course all that happens exactly when everything else is due.
But I’ll take it any day of the week. Just please give me some live music. Please. I’ll settle for Mongolian death metal at this point.
Third Places or No places?
This article got a lot of bounce on LinkedIn last week, but I’m including it less for what it says and more for what it leaves out. I do love the fact that the author is pulling most of her examples from Michigan and Ohio. That’s probably my own bias speaking, but I also think it might reflect a more common experience than some of the more dense coastal cities.
The article asks whether our conventional, brick-and-mortar Third Places (bars, coffee shops, gyms, museums etc.) will come back post-pandemic the way they were before. And it raises some concerns. Like the guy in the art…
